Amidst the uncertainty surrounding the Oil & Gas industry in Colorado, EOG Resources and Anadarko Petroleum highlighted their commitment to the Powder River Basin and Wyoming in their recent Q3 earnings calls. Both firms praised the Wyoming basin and are aiming to ramp up their development and production in the largely consolidated Eastern Wyoming oil field.
With proposition 112 remaining a controversial topic in Colorado, Anadarko have shrugged at the possibile damage the proposition could incur if passed through. CEO Robert Walker stated that he did not believe that the effects of the proposition, if passed, would have much of an effect on the overall growth goals of the company.
EOG Resources continue to drill in the Powder River Basin and DJ Basin. Their investment in Wyoming has paid off, with drilling costs decreasingly dramatically since the worst of the crude price downturn. David Trice, vice president of exploration and production for EOG, stated the company’s long term commitment to the PRB and Wyoming, saying “we’re planning for long-term, high-return growth out of the Powder River Basin”.
